Abstract

The purpose of this study is to address the importance of simulation for planning a port operation of unloading ship, where will the main resources used to perform the operation. The simulation will be held in a single area of a port terminal where simulated the operation of unloading a container ship, enabling a comparison between the port container handling equipment. The equipment chosen for the study were the MHC (Mobile Harbor Crane), Portainer (Ship to Shore Crane-STS) and Reach Stacker, all equipment is standardized to work in the port area with the elevation setting the amount of resources to the location in question on the basis of interpretation of the reports issued by each of the containers. The comparison will be performed in a virtual environment from a models tested in ProModel simulation software. Will be tested variables that will indicate the best simulation.
